Golapi Nodi – Hand-Painted Panjabi in Pink

Golapi Nodi means pink river. The painting runs from the shoulder to below the knee: a still river, one country boat tied at the bank, and a tree in flower leaning over the water. The sky behind it is worked in blue and magenta and left to bleed into the cloth, the way watercolour does.

The base is a pale pink cotton, plain at the back and on the sleeves, so the whole design sits on the front where it can be seen. Mandarin collar, four buttons, side slits.

Care

Hand wash the first time, cold water, no soaking. Painted cloth does not like being left wet, so wash it and hang it. Dry in shade, never in strong sun. Iron on the reverse and keep the iron off the painting itself.
